City water levels under close scrutiny

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will closely monitor water levels around the city as the level is estimated to hit a peak on Monday (November 17), reports Manager Online.
The sea’s level on November 13 remained at 2.12 meters, which was higher than forecasted, according to the report. Areas worst hit at present are Juntakham, Wat Thevaraj Kunchorn and the Bang Sue community.
City clerk Pongsak Semsant said rising water levels would persist until Friday (November 21). The water level in the Chao Phraya River remained at 1.35 m, according to report.
The Department of Prevention and Relief of Public Disasters, City Police Office, and Department of Health have been tasked with providing help to citizens in high-risk areas.
The BMA will also coordinate with (boat operator) Chao Phraya Express to carefully handle navigation of its vessels to avoid affecting homes located on or near the river. – Manager Online, ThaiAsiaToday.com.
