PAD planning action against 'Kalib'chamlong.jpeg

The anti-government People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) said on Friday that it would hold a mass ra
lly on Sunday during which it would announce its response to articles penned by a columnist from Lok Wannee ('The World Today'), which the PAD alleges are offensive to the monarchy.

Chamlong Srimuang, a key leader of the PAD, alleged that the columnist, who uses the pen name 'Kalib', had written articles the group considers to be guilty of lèse majesté for four consecutive days. The articles were published in the newspaper, and circulated on numerous websites, he said.

The media has suggested that the writer could actually be Jakropob Penkair, the former prime minister's office minister who resigned recently after being charged with lèse majesté over a speech he delivered at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand (FCCT) last year. However, there has been nothing to suggest that this is anything more than media speculation at this point in time. - Manager Online.
