Sri Lankan national carrier SriLankan Airlines recently sponsored a marching band from Sarasit Phitayalai School to participate in World Children's Day in Sri Lanka.

To celebrate this auspicious occasion and promote friendship between the two countries, the 76 children representing Thailand will perform in Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo, in front of the Sri Lankan president and in several other major cities across the country.

The concert, using the theme 'Marching towards Peace with Children', has been sponsored by the Sri Lankan government and the Salesian Congregation in Sri Lanka. Its goal is to spread the message of peace and harmony through music among the children of Sri Lanka.

Phuket – Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen joined real estate agents, investors and fellow purchasers at Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort Phuket recently to celebrate the completion of the property's first phase.

Raikkonen has purchased a poolside villa at Serenity Terraces, which is on Rawai Beach on the quiet southeast corner of the island.

“I'd forgotten how beautiful Phuket is – I'm also very impressed with the whole progress of the Serenity project,” he was quoted as saying. “After living here for a week, I'm convinced I've made the right choice - the beachfront location is fantastic. I've enjoyed a great holiday in Phuket, which is a magnificent place.”

Over 65% of the development, which features 52 resort properties, including freehold condominiums, has been sold already. Property sales have continued despite the political turmoil in Bangkok and global financial crisis, according to the developer.

“There's been little or no impact on sales and enquiries,” said Izzy Ben Natan, Serenity Terraces' project manager. “Investors have made their decision based on the medium and long term, both of which remain very bright.”
