While
the world of fashion and couture goes through its annual cycles,
featuring new patterns, styles and shapes, colors and concepts, it
still doesn’t seem to get any easier to decide on what to wear.
How
will I get away with wearing this? How do they get away with that?
How can I best coordinate these color schemes for maximum effect?
Through clever styling, that’s how.
Or
so it seems, according to the owner of Runway, who points out that
such questions of style aren't the sort of thing most people get to
discuss in school. Aoy says the secret of her success is having her
own style and trusting her instincts when it comes to clothes, rather
than necessarily following the crowd in terms of ‘fads’.
Success
came quickly to Runway, a small outlet which opened two years ago.
Things went so well, in fact, that the operator went on to offer
Runway a more stable location.
Signature
style
The
store owner's attitude reminds me of Patricia Field, the costume
designer for Sex and the City.
She’s both straightforward and innovative. And her appearance
somehow reminds me of the eclectic New York-based fashion designer
Betsey Johnson.
The
items for sale in Runway provide an insight into the
owner's personal style. While most
of the outfits or items have been personally designed and created by
her, some are interesting pieces she's picked up on her travels.
These things seem to reflect her individual style - a colorful
character who really enjoys dressing to impress.
An
abundance of variety
Among
the racks of clothes, you'll see lots of unique blouses, beautiful
dresses and skirts, jackets, and skimpy t-shirts, many of which are
the
owner's
own creations. Complimenting her signature style are lots of footwear
options, including colorful flip-flops, knee-high boots, killer
stilettos, mules, pumps, and wedges.

Runway is a
virtual 'Aladdin's Cave' for fashionistas, offering a huge range of
accessories, including bracelets, chokers, customized embroidered
wristbands, necklaces, and rings.
Aoy
has put a good deal of effort into providing some creative options
for adventurous clothes shoppers. She can demonstrate through her
displays how a tunic-style dress or top can be very versatile,
looking particularly good with skinny, tailored trousers, for
example.
Fashion
means fun
Her
passion for diversity can be seen through several interesting themes,
including the 'sexy secretary' look (pencil skirts, pussy bows, and
pointy court shoes), the 1960s 'Mod babe' (minidress and colored
tights), and even the 'gypsy-skirted bohemian'.
These
kinds of clever creations ensure a shopping trip to Runway is always
fun. And girls who just love to party certainly won't be disappointed
since they're very well catered for.
One
particularly interesting feature of Runway's collection is the
uniquely-designed hats. To get a better idea of the designs on offer,
I suggest you pay a visit to the store because, as any milliner will
tell you, the only surefire way of finding out whether a hat suits
your style or not is to try one on.
Grand
Finale
Following
the runaway success of Runway, a 'sister' store called “Finale”
has been launched at The
Crystal
close to Raminda-Atnarong tollway.
