Black sand from the sea provides nutrients from the deep, including mineral salts that are known for their ability to revitalize the skin and promote cellular renewal.
JW’s Health Club and Spa on the sixth floor of the JW Marriott is launching the Black Sand Body Scrub to coincide with the hot season. This is an ideal exfoliating skin experience for summer
lovers and was recently introduced to guests at the hotel and residents in the locale. It comprises a scrub and spa therapy aimed at totally rejuvenating your mind and body. Courtesy encounter
At the registration counter, a team of incredibly pleasant and accommodating staff will greet you. A therapist will then lead you to the relaxing and tranquil atmosphere of the spa lounge.
After a cup of warm lemon grass tea, the Black Sand Scrub ritual begins as the therapist applies balancing oil onto your body to adjust your mind in peace and unclog your skin before
applying body oil massage to help prepare your skin for the imminent sand scrub.
This scrub treatment offers a holistic sense of well being and relaxation, using the recently launched luxurious Anne Semonin’s Black Sand Body Scrub, a mixture of white salt and black sand
from Tahiti, along with a blend of jojoba, calendula and almond oil.
The scrub ends as your whole body is wrapped in a large cotton sarong to allow the marine ingredients and mineral salts to penetrate your skin deeply to help purify and hydrate the skin.
During this relaxing moment, the therapist massages your head to clear away your stresses and strains. And after cleansing away the scrub, you’ll find your skin velvety soft, smooth and simply glowing, feeling wonderfully clean and fresh.
The therapy concludes with a Phyto-Aromatic Relaxing Body massage, a signature aromatherapy massage, using a large sweeping glide technique to improve blood circulation and the flow of oxygen, release toxins from muscles, and alleviate muscle tension.
You’ll soon find you relax amid the soothing aromas generated by the
aromatherapy oils. The therapist kindly points out that the formulas or
oils can be selected in line with an individual’s preference.
The therapist told me she uses an oil called Uplifting Woman for women
and Uplifting Man for men during the morning treatment hours. The
aromas help reawaken the body from accumulated tiredness over a number
of days or weeks.
If customers arrive in the afternoon, the therapist uses a somewhat
different formula called Relaxing Woman and Relaxing Man to freshen up
and ease the customer’s stresses and strains.
The session winds down as the therapist gently caresses your whole body
to reinvigorate it and stimulate your senses. If you wish, you can
leave the oil on your skin ‘post massage’ for another one or two hours
in order to achieve optimum results, according to the therapist.
While certainly providing the ultimate in relaxation, the scrub and spa
therapy can also help you find balance and harmony in both your mind
and body.
