If you're looking to shed a few pounds, Bangkok hosts an almost unlimited number of options. Many can easily be reached via the city's efficient BTS skytrain or MRT subway systems, and you may even wish to consult more than one center before deciding which direction on a slimming course or program.
Burn fat and shed the pounds
We started off by taking a look at a slimming program offered by S Medical Spa, which is located just a short walk away from Ploenchit BTS station.
You start the process by undergoing a consultation with one of the spa's physicians, who will determine your suitability before beginning recommending a program. The information gathered will help the spa to locate a customized integrated weight management program that perfectly meets your needs.
The spa also offers Figure Styling Technology, which includes treatments such as: non-surgical lipolysis; instant firming; and abdominal laxity treatments, amongst others.
S Medical Spa claims that by participating in its five-month weight loss program it's possible to shed up to 25 kilograms.
The spa also provides nutritional options through S Cuisine. You won't find any deep-fried foods here, and all the ingredients are specially selected to minimize your calorie intake without compromising your health. For example, in Thai dishes that would normally use coconut milk as an ingredient, oat milk is used instead. Likewise, highly calorific flour noodles give way to a healthier wholewheat variety so you can enjoy a fairly 'regular' range of meals that have a lower calorific content.
S Medical Spa is located between the British Embassy on Wireless Road and the Nai Lert Park Bangkok Hotel. For a more detailed explanation, check out this map.

Flush out the fats
If you chose to sample some of the light but tasty dishes offered at S Medical Spa's S Cuisine, allow a couple of hours for your food to digest before considering the next program.
Located close to Chidlom BTS station (take Exit 8) on the fourth floor of the Erawan Bangkok, HydroHealth specializes in colon hydrotherapy treatment. For slimmers, however, we recommend the center's Speed Fat Break and Burn program.
The two-and-a-half hour program begins with an infrared sauna, which can help to remove bad cholesterol and toxins. This is followed by a S&L (Slim&Smooth and Light&Lean) treatment. The S&L treatment uses a combination of a vacuum massage machine with an infrared laser, which can burn away unwanted fat. It is claimed that the use of an LED light can help to improve blood circulation and the metabolism.
In order to ensure treatments are appropriate for an individual's needs, the center first conducts a physical examination.

Healthy treats
A great way to start losing a few pounds is to switch to a vegetarian diet, or at least reduce your levels of meat consumption.
Tamarind Café can be reached by the BTS skytrain by heading for Phrom Phong station. Exit 6 will lead you towards Soi 20.

Sweet but 'safe'
If by now you're starting to yearn for something sweet, you better make it something sweet and healthy unless you want to undo all the good work so far.
Red Mango's non-fat yogurt ice creams, topped with fresh fruit, may offer those with a 'sweet tooth' a safe solution. A small (93 g) cup of Red Mango's yogurt ice cream weighs in at just 90 calories per serving.
There are now four Red Mango branches in Bangkok at Siam Center (BTS Siam), CentralWorld (BTS: Siam/Chidlom), MBK (BTS: Siam), and the Esplanade (MRT: Thailand Cultural Center).
Remember that to lose weight and stay slimmer, it is necessary to workout regularly and maintain a healthful diet.
Before making any choices regarding weight loss, please remember that it's always safest to consult with your personal physician first before making any wholesale changes to your diet.
