Located behind Muse Club in what was previously known as Booze, Funky Villa features two distinct areas – an outdoor terrace area featuring chill-out music, and an indoor area featuring a pool bar, cigar bar and ‘live’ zone.
Funky Villa has become one of the capital’s prettiest bars and clubs, and it’s also reasonably safe and secure. The club features a rather ‘open’ feel so that the crowd can truly relax and enjoy the entertainment. Some of the lighting inside manages to make everyone look good, even though some of the younger members of the crowd seem pretty drunk. Service and smiles
Even though it was a Tuesday when my companion and I visited the club, it was pretty crowded. And the service was absolutely incredible, with friendly smiling staff members despite being busy.
Funky Villa is a great place to catch a ‘live’ concert – the sound is cool, and you can either settle down in some of the venue’s comfy couches, or take up position in a standing area alongside the stage. The nightly music program kicks off at 9 pm.
A drinker’s delight
Funky Villa offers lots of affordable drink options, with a glass of whiskey costing 150 baht (US$4.28) and a bottle 1,100 baht. Mixers will set you back 70 baht.
Most of the crowd here was drinking Johnnie Walker, which remains a popular drink and is available in various grades at various prices to suit your budget.
Many kinds of music are played at this beautiful bar, and, like many of the clubs in the locale, it boast a trendy crowd of ‘20-somethings’. It’s a great place to party and enjoy a dance. But if you’re just looking to enjoy a few drinks with friends in an unpretentious venue serving up great music, look no further!

Transport connections: Train: Take the BTS skytrain to Thonglor or Ekamai, since the club is roughly equidistant. Hail a taxi from the station or a motorcycle if looking to beat the traffic.
